Artist Elizabeth Matthews was born and raised
in the Washington D.C.area and began her life as
an artist at a young age, inspired by works in the
National Gallery of Art and other Washington
D.C.collections. She has studied at Syracuse
University, College of Art, and under the tutelage
of several individual artists. She has currently
gone back to school after a 20 year hiatus and is a
student at the University of Louisiana. She has
been painting portraits for commission for 20 years.
